Making Dirt CupsToday the kids made "dirt cups" for snack! They mixed mud (pudding) and sand (crushed graham crackers) to make loam. Then they added sticks (pretzels), rocks (raisins), and bugs (gummy worms). Yum, now doesn't that sound appetizing?

Making Holiday GarlandWith the ground breaking at the school for the new building, they had to cut down some beautiful holly trees. How fortuitous to have it happen during the holiday season. We decided to use the holly to make garland. Kim Mink came to help with the project and demonstrate to the kids how it's done. She and Tina Chaleki cut the holly and other greens from around the school for the project. The kids did a great job and the garland was beautiful. We may even use some to decorate the school. Thanks Kim for helping!

Have a Great Holiday Season - See you in the Spring!
Today was the last Garden Club session. We had a lot of fun learning about gardening this fall. The Junior Master Gardeners completed their JMG Level 1 Chapter 1 work and will receive their recognition pins as soon as they are back in stock (they are currently on back order). Great job!
We will start up again in the Spring (Mar 1 - May 17, 2013). The Grizzly Gardeners will be learning about "dirt" and working in the gardens. Hope to see everyone in March! |
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
