Color in Nature
September 12, 2014 - The gardeners took advantage of a beautiful late summer day and after some time on the playground and snack, hunted for objects from nature to complete a color wheel.
The Nature of Color WheelsMrs. Regina supplied each gardener with a color wheel template and after a review of color mixing, each colored in the primary and secondary colors. One of the gardeners pointed out that a landscape designer might decide to create a garden with cool colors or one with warm colors.

The Thrill of the Treasure HuntNext, the gardeners hunted as a group for matching items from nature to affix in each wedge. Some colors were more challenging to find than others. Luckily, Mrs. Huelskoetter had brought in some blossoms from her garden in order to supplement the findings at Grymes. The resulting color wheels were quite eye-catching.
