The Spring Garden Club went by too fast. We had so many fun activities planned and simply ran out of time. We tried to get as much done as we could in the last session. Take a look...
Decomposition ExperimentRemember at the beginning of Spring we buried different materials in the ground to see if they would decompose? Well some of it did because we couldn't find the veggie sticks, carrots, paper, etc. We did find the plastic cup!
Critter Corner
The kids found a grub and learned that grubs are not good for the garden. Parker also found a live Cicada and wanted everyone to hear it.
|
Gardens and JournalingThe kids visited their gardens and did some journaling.
Vegetable GardenThe vegetable garden is coming along nicely. The kids picked the scallions and lettuce.

Cookies or Lettuce?
As a special treat, the kids decorated cookies with icing and sprinkles. They also ate the lettuce from the garden. When the Clover Buds were asked what they learned at the Garden Club that they didn't know before, Caroline said "I did't know lettuce tasted so good when it comes out of your garden". Many of the others agreed.

Fairy Gardens
The Grizzly Gardeners made the most magical fairy gardens. They filled a roasting pan with dirt and added succulents, tiles for a patio, decorative rocks, fairies and bugs.
