Spring time: Nests and Pests
April 10, 2015 - Gardeners learned about nature's garden helpers. Birds eat garden pests, and so do some helpful insects, known as beneficials. Other birds and insects act as pollinators, allowing some types of fruits and nuts to develop.
Nifty NestsThe gardeners created some nice nesting materials to place outside near the garden. Look around the campus for some interestingly adorned bird nests this spring!

Friend or Foe?Gardeners learned about different pests, such as aphids and cucumber beetles, as well as beneficials, like earth worms and honey bees.
